I've been a busy girl today! Brandon is gone to Norman for an OU football game & I decided to keep myself busy by sewing. I've been wanting to play around with my new sewing machine and thought today was the perfect day to do it. Payton told me that she wanted to be a 50's girl for Halloween this year. I priced poodle skirts at a couple of stores and about flipped out! Soooo, I decided to attempt to make one for her myself. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be and only cost me around $11 to make! The felt was on sale this week. Woo hoo for that!!!
My second project of the day was this flannel pillowcase. It has a cute girly print on it! I bought a lot of this fabric and have plans to make these for Payton & Presley's friends birthday gifts. The girls saw it after I finished & begged for me to make one for them! Guess I'll have to sit back down at the sewing machine!
I am LOVING my new sewing machine! I heart you, my loving Husqvarna!!!
(Notice the owner's manual is close by... I think I've read it 57 times)

Great projects. I want to learn to sew and my mom sews some and has agreed to help me learn. My first project will be some basic aprons that I plan to give away for Christmas presents. What type of sewing machine do you suggest for beginners like me?
