Payton made the Battle of the Books team!!!

I am soooo excited!!! Payton just called from school & said that she made the Battle of the Books team at her school! Yea Payton! She was so proud of herself... she didn't even miss one question on the test & was the first to finish! She took the test on Friday after school & we had to wait until this morning to find out! I had her call me from school after they announced the names... I couldn't stand to wait until after school! There are only twelve students selected from each school to participate. Battle of the Books is a great program that Birdville ISD has. Each of the elementary schools has a team that meets twice a week after school to study & then competes against each other by having to answer questions about books. North Ridge has always done very well in the past, so the pressure is on! The students must know the tiniest of details about each of the books covered. Payton LOVES to read & can spend hours at a time reading so this is PERFECT for her! She begins after school practice tomorrow & I believe the competition is in January. I'll keep you updated!

A lot to be thankful for!

We had a scare with Presley this week! On Wednesday afternoon I found a lump on the right side of her chest. I immediately panicked & called Brandon. He said to wait to call the doctor until after he looked at it when he got home. It feels hard like part of her rib & isn't movable. It is about the size of a quarter & is raised. I prayed like I have never prayed before for Miss Presley! We got her in to her pediatrician on Friday & he looked at it and sent us to radiology to get a chest x-ray to see if there was a growth of any kind. She did a great job holding still for the 3 x-rays.... I was struggling to hold it all in & fight back the tears. I was so scared and full of emotions. I'm so glad that Brandon was there with me. He has a wonderful way of comforting me when I'm upset. As many of you know, Presley had a very serious blood infection & spent 10 days in Cook Children's on IV antibiotics when she was 7 weeks old. Every time she is sick or gets hurt I have a hard time with it because of her previous illness & all we went through with that. Luckily we didn't have to wait long for the radiologist to look at the x-rays. He could see nothing out of the ordinary! Thank you God!!! Presley's pediatrician said that the hard lump is just abnormal bone growth and there is nothing to worry about!!! Today I am counting my blessings and am thankful for the health of our family!

Giving softball a try!

Payton started playing on a softball team this fall! Softball is very new to us... Payton has played soccer every season since she was 4, but wanted to give softball a try. She went to LD Bell's softball camp this summer & loved it! Ray Fuller, the head girl's softball coach at LD Bell did a wonderful job with all of the girls! It is a very organized & fun camp for the girls! I'm sure Payton will be going again next summer!

Not only is Payton playing on the team, WE ARE ALL INVOLVED!!! Brandon is helping our good friend, Gene Paul coach & I am the dugout coach. (I have a new respect for all of those moms out there who have done this job... it is HARD work getting everyone organized & ready to bat in order with helmets on & not to mention getting all of the catching gear on the girls) Even Miss Presley is a part of the team! She is the cutest little bat girl you have ever seen!!! I just crack up every time I see her run to get the bat in her yellow helmet that is about 8 sizes too big for her. She has to hold it on her head when she runs! TOO CUTE!!!!

GO DIAMONDS!!!!!

Hawaiian Luau

MeMe & Papa hosted a Hawaiian Luau for Payton & Presley and their cousins Kiley & Caden! We all had a GREAT time!!! We had the Hawaiian attire, music, games & of course the food! As you can see in the pictures, Brandon was enjoying himself way too much doing the limbo! MeMe went all out for this shindig...it's something the girls will always remember!

Miss Priss is 5!

We had a fun time celebrating Presley's birthday! She kept telling everyone that she was lucky because she had THREE birthday parties! The first one wasn't really a party... Brandon, Payton, Presley & I went to Rainforest Cafe & Build A Bear on her actual birthday, August 21st. We had a blast! Her next party was our family birthday party for her with grandparents, aunts, uncles & cousins. We had it at our house & the kiddos had a fun time playing with each other. We had barbecue for dinner & Presley had more candles to blow out! Her third birthday party was at her great friend Reagan's house. They had thier friend birthday parties together because they are only 1 week apart in age! All of the girls dressed up & we had a great Princess Dress Up Party!
Whew! Parties are over for a while... Payton's will be in December! Just enough time to catch my breath!

It's Picture Time!

I got the girls all dolled up & we headed off to get their pictures taken... Okay, let's just say it's been a while, a long while! I knew there was a reason why I hadn't done it in so long... hmm let me think, maybe because, let me put it nicely... it was a major whipping!!! It seemed like we were in there FOREVER & the girls were not getting along! Oh well, with that said, they look like perfect & sweet little angels in the pictures and they turned out darling. I guess it was worth all of the stress!!!

New Blog!

Hi Everyone! I've been talking to Brandon about setting one of these up lately, but just haven't made the time to do it! Well look at me... I've got my rear in gear! Things have been busy here with Payton's school. She is in 3rd Grade at North Ridge Elementary & is such a fabulous student! Presley goes to Circle of Friends Preschool at our church, Legacy Church of Christ. She goes on Tuesday's & Thursday's and will start Kindergarten next year. Soooo hard to believe! Brandon is enjoying his business. He has a business where he trains new Farmers agents to be more productive in their sales. He has a training center in Las Colinas. Here is a link to his website. www.farmerstraining.com Life is great for me. I am still staying home with the girls & loving every minute of it! I am as busy as ever with my hairbow business. Lots of mommy's needing bows for their little princesses! www.kaylynnandcompanybows.com

I have to include a few of the pictures I took of Presley & Maggie in our backyard a few days ago!

Presley was really ticked off at me by this point! She was ready for me to end the photo shoot!!!
