Payton's a huntin' gal now!

Payton has been begging her daddy to take her hunting for some time now. Payton is a "daddy's girl". She always has been. She LOVES football & knows every detail there is about the sport...I know nothing & have no interest in it. She LOVES duck hunting & can name which kind of duck is quacking when Brandon makes the sound on his duck calls...I again know nothing & have no interest in it. Every time Brandon has come home from a hunt and starts to clean the birds...you guessed it. Payton is always right there with him ripping guts out & the whole nine yards! Miss Presley and I think it's gross!

Well the big day came yesterday! Brandon said she could go on the next hunt. She could hardly sleep on Friday night. She was up several times because she was soooo excited! Brandon had gone earlier in the day to get her camo bib overalls, camo boots and gloves. It was all laid out in her bedroom for the 4:30 a.m. departure. I was worried sick about my 9 year old princess going hunting with the men, but had full faith that Brandon would take care of our sweetie. I got a call at 8:00 a.m. and my heart stopped...All I could think was what happened! It was Payton saying that she shot her first duck!!! She was so excited and so was her daddy! I'm sure Brandon will blog about it too with all of the details about the hunt and more pictures! She is her own little person who has her own interests & I love her for that!

Payton & Brandon after the hunt!
Just look at my little princess!
The two hunters of the family
This is the shotgun shell that she used to shoot her first duck!
I'm sure this is something she will keep forever!

Brandon has been asking me If I would go with him on a hunt to video & take pictures. I don't think that's something I forsee happening in my lifetime! Sorry Babe!

What great memories for them both! I used to love going until my wadders filled up with water and I almost froze to death. But seeing them makes me miss it. You should give it a try! I know, I'm crazy.

What neat pics. Maddie went dove hunting with jason when she was four. she didn't shoot a gun, but picked up birds and drank a beer. Oh, jill. I cannot read your blog anymore.
